16.04.2015 Year 6 Open Cup Tournament

On Thursday 16th April, the Year 6 Netball Team travelled to Bradley Barton School for the Open Cup Tournament.
We played some superb netball and really showed how well we have developed as a team. Out of five matches we enjoyed three wins, a draw and one loss. We were very pleased to come 2nd overall. Great result!!!!!!

17.04.2015 Ben represents England!

Today, former Rydon pupil Ben Stevens, flies out to Antalya in Turkey to compete on behalf of England at the World Schools Orienteering Championships. It is an amazing achievement and Rydon are very proud of him for his success! Good luck Ben!

16.04.2015 Mr Banwell's Training Experience!

On Thursday, all the children from Rydon helped Mr Banwell complete his training for the London Marathon! Each year group joined Mr Banwell for a few laps of the school field and found out what it takes to be part of such an amazing event. We wish Mr Banwell the best of luck and hope he raises lots of money for the charity of his choice.

Good luck Mr Banwell!!!!!!!!!

26.03.2015 Year 4 Netball

On Thursday 26th March, Year 4 Netballers had a match against Bradley Barton. Two teams played and we enjoyed learning a lot more about the game with some real match experience. The 'A' team, consisting only of girls, played first and were impressive in every aspect of the game. The second match was the turn of the 'B' team, many enjoying their first match! Again, some excellent skills were shown and a great effort was made by all.
Fantastic start! I am looking forward to a successful future with these talented Year 4's.

KS1 Sports Festival

Rydon hosted a KS1 Sports Festival for schools in the Teign Valley Community which was kindly run by Tim Flint from Teign. With over 100 children, the morning was a great success! Mr Flint had previously worked with Year 6 children from Rydon to train them to be leaders for the event. Several adults commented on how well the Year 6 children ran each station and encouraged the younger children to try their best. It was an amazing morning, which will hopefully happen again soon. Thank you to all the schools who participated and a special thanks to Mr Flint who organised the event.
