17.10.2017 Yr 6 Netball Festival
On Tuesday 17th October, all of Year 6 walked to Teign School for a fun morning of netball action. At the netball festival, the Sports Leaders were very clear and supportive in all of the activities. The activities included; benchball, shooting, tag-rugby (to improve dodging) and a warm-up game called 'coathanger'. All of the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves, especially in the competitive aspects of the morning and would love to take part in activities like this again. Thanks goes to all Teign staff and Sports Leaders who helped make the morning a great success.

Rydon vs Blackpool
Rydon's A and B Team both got their league matches underway against Blackpool School on Tuesday 29th November. Rydon had come up against Blackpool the night before in the Doel Cup which had seen Blackpool win 2-0. However, the A team started well and scored an early goal, this was then followed up by some excellent team play which saw a further two goals scored. The final result, Rydon 'A' 3, Blackpool 'A' 0. It was then the B teams go. All players worked hard and showed good team spirit after going down 1-0. Rydon continued to press but unfortunately due to a excellent Blackpool defence, the result remained 1-0 to Blackpool B. Thank you to Blackpool Primary School for two brilliant matches and also to all the spectators and supporters who cheered on all of the children.
Doel Cup
It was a very, very, very cold evening on Monday as Rydon played their first competitive football of the season at Coombeshead. There were sixteen teams entered for the first stage of the Doel Cup and Rydon were to play four matches. The first match was a tough game which saw Rydon narrowly defeated 2-0 by Blackpool, however this was followed by a victory against St Catherine's. Next was another close match with Ipplepen who won 1-0. Finally, Rydon finished the night with a performance which saw a 4-0 victory against Marldon. Thank you to all the parents who helped with transport and came and supported.

The first was a Year 2 game which saw Rydon take an early one goal lead before a good comeback saw Christow emerge victorious 4-1. It was then the turn of KS2, who played good football and came close to scoring on many occasions. However, the game finished 0-0 with both sides deserving something.
Year 3/4 Football vs Canada Hill

We look forward to a replay soon!
Young Play Leaders session @ Stover
At the start of each year, four children are selected to participate in the Young Play Leaders meeting at Stover. It was a good morning where children from other schools got the chance to discuss what activities they would like to see happening at break and lunch. They also took part in different challenges. These children then pass on their knowledge to other Young Play Leaders at their schools.

23.05.2016 Girls are going to the County Cricket Finals!!
On Monday 23rd May, a team of Year 5 and Year 6
girls headed off to a Devon County Cricket Tournament. 12 teams entered and we
were to play against 4 teams in our group, the first being Bradley Barton. We
played an amazing first fixture and managed to score over 240 runs, which was a
fantastic score! Next , we played Oldway 2 and once again were victorious,
moving on to our 3rd game against Canada Hill. This was a closer fixture and
with only 16 runs between us we came away winners once again. Nervously, now
realising we had a strong chance to qualify for the county finals, we faced
Bovey Tracey. Our batting was outstanding and we stacked up a massive 250 +
runs again their 219. All of the team played there part in a fantastic
afternoon. Thank you girls and WELL DONE!!

9.3.2016 Rydon v Christow Football Challenge
Last week we played two matches with our friends from
Christow Primary School. It was the first time that we had organised an inter
school match for children in Years One and Two and they put on a great
performance for a large crowd of spectators winning the match 5-0. The key
Stage Two match was a tight affair with the match ending in a 1-1 draw. Both
matches were played in a great spirit. At the end of the matches, Rydon were
