Rydon vs Blackpool
Rydon's A and B Team both got their league matches underway against Blackpool School on Tuesday 29th November. Rydon had come up against Blackpool the night before in the Doel Cup which had seen Blackpool win 2-0. However, the A team started well and scored an early goal, this was then followed up by some excellent team play which saw a further two goals scored. The final result, Rydon 'A' 3, Blackpool 'A' 0. It was then the B teams go. All players worked hard and showed good team spirit after going down 1-0. Rydon continued to press but unfortunately due to a excellent Blackpool defence, the result remained 1-0 to Blackpool B. Thank you to Blackpool Primary School for two brilliant matches and also to all the spectators and supporters who cheered on all of the children.
Doel Cup
It was a very, very, very cold evening on Monday as Rydon played their first competitive football of the season at Coombeshead. There were sixteen teams entered for the first stage of the Doel Cup and Rydon were to play four matches. The first match was a tough game which saw Rydon narrowly defeated 2-0 by Blackpool, however this was followed by a victory against St Catherine's. Next was another close match with Ipplepen who won 1-0. Finally, Rydon finished the night with a performance which saw a 4-0 victory against Marldon. Thank you to all the parents who helped with transport and came and supported.

Year 3/4 Boys Football
On Monday, the Year 3/4 Football Team took part in a tournament which was held at South Dartmoor. It was a cold evening under the floodlights and all the boys played brilliantly. Rydon had victories against Canada Hill, St Catherine's and Blackpool, followed by a narrow defeat to St Michael's and a hard fought draw against Bovey Tracey. Thank you to Mr Perryman and all the adults who helped with transport and supported the team on the day.
Indoor cricket
Boys and girls from Rydon Primary School competed in the School Sport Partnership Indoor Cricket on Wednesday. It was a good day and all the children enjoyed themselves playing matches against other schools in the area. The girls' team finished in second with the boys coming a respectable fourth. A big thank you to those who took part and the adults who helped on the day.
