Rydon played five matches in all which saw a 0-0 draw with Chudleigh, Canada Hill and Decoy, followed by two 1-0 victories against Blackpool and Exminster. At the end, Rydon, Blackpool and Exminster were tied on 19 points each. Unfortunately, Rydon came third on goal difference. It was a successful night, which saw the Rydon defence unbeaten once again! 12.3.2015 Futsal County Finals
Well done to the Year 4/5 Futsal Team, who finished 3rd in the County Finals! There were several teams from Plymouth and Exeter competing for the title of County Champion, and Rydon were still in contention up until the very last game. In total, Rydon played seven games, winning four, drawing two and only losing one. Every member of the team gave their all and it was a pleasure to take them to the event. Super effort boys!
Dance festival 10th March 2015
A huge selection of children from across year 5 and 6 headed off to Coombeshead School to take part in the Dance festival for the school partnership. Miss Wyman and Mrs Cutler had worked with the children over 6 weeks to put together a group dance based on their interpretation of the theme 'Waves'. The day involved dancing followed by art work. Models were made to represent your dance, using tin foil!! Everyone had a really fantastic day and the final show was simply fantastic, dancing, costumes and glittery face paint captured the audience and they had an amazing showcase of children from all over South Devon.
Netball round up March 2015
This years season nearly draws to a close and we remain as busy as ever trying to complete all of our fixtures!
Year 4 Netballers have played 2 matches and are continually growing in their ability to catch, throw and shoot. Alfie remains the highest goalscorer but is chased down by Leonie Mai. The first match that we played was against Decoy at Rydon, we played some fantastic netball, worked hard as a team and won with an amazing 7-0 scoreline! Our second match took us to Bovey Tracey , where we were met by an experienced year 4 side. We fought hard but unfortunately lost this fixture 5-3. Year 4 netball club starts on March 23rd and I look forward to improving on all the skills for the future.
Year 6 netballers have played 2 fixtures. The first match was an evenly fought fixture against Decoy. It was a goal for goal 20 minutes game with our girls managing to secure a 5-4 victory. Our second fixture saw us head off to Kingskerswell. Abby managed to score an amazing 4 goals in the first 5 minutes to give us a great lead. We continued to play some fantastic netball and the end result of 8-1 was a credit to the all round excellent play.
Congratulations to all the children involved in the netball matches and club at Rydon, every single one of you has improved and shown great skills for the future!
